No competition, pure entertainment 😏 First challenge : find a song that the big audience can relate to and give it as much sense as possible if performed with extreme vocals 🤔 I stumbled on « My Way » and it became obvious when I read the lyrics : « Regrets, I've had a few But then again, too few to mention I did what I had to do And saw it through without exemption For what is a man, what has he got? If not himself, then he has naught But through it all, when there was doubt I ate it up and spit it out I faced it all and stood tall And did it, did it my way » Second challenge : rearrange the song vocally and change the musical structure to fit the required length of performance. With help from Christophe Godin, we finally managed to match with the format. Third challenge : To sing live I needed musicians (there’s no way you can represent metal music on a backing track), so I asked my bandmates to accompany me in order to keep things authentic within the show. It allowed us to travel during the pandemic and spend some quality time in Paris. This is a very humble tribute to a song that made me feel so very happy when I was a child !! I didn't realize that I was already loving Ronnie James Dio's unique voice and energy!! On this day in 1991, one of the most beautiful songs was released... As a teenager, U2 was part of my religion. Love Is Blindness" is the final track on their album "Achtung Baby". I covered it years ago and really wanted to have it here because it means something to me. I wish it makes you travel as well ;) "The song was written on piano by lead singer Bono during the recording sessions for U2's 1988 album Rattle and Hum. Here's my spontaneous and imperfect a capella version of Mr. Sandman that I'm happy to share with you today. This 1954 song reminds me the 80's... funny right? I believe I may have heard it for the first time when I saw "Back to the future".
